Winder’s Pond is a community of 70 family homes nestled around a 17 acre pond that is actively maintained so that you can swim in it, if you like. Of course you’ll have to share the pond with the plentiful large-mouth bass and some crappies.

The community collectively owns an additional 33 acres so that if you’re not inclined to swim or paddle about on the pond, you can walk through the nature trails that surround the pond. As you walk around the several trails you’ll eventually walk over the bridge shown. You’ll go past our picnic area with six picnic tables, adjacent to the playground. Here again, the playground is actively maintained to insure safety for our neighborhood children. Park benches have been placed at strategic locations on the trails overlooking the pond so that you can rest and enjoy the panoramic view. The sunset views can be breathtaking with the pond reflections and the amazing sunset colors.

The Winder’s Pond community is protected by the Winder’s Pond Home Association (WPHA) which was incorporated Nov., 1982. The WPHA have 7 community-elected Board members. The Board meets every month to discuss maintenance, to insure preservation, and architectural control of the residents and Commons area. The resident Board members main goals are to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community. Home-owners provide a semiannual fee ($150) which is used by the Board to achieve our goals. This modest fee has not changed for 30 years. Considering the outstanding community care and attention given by the Board, it’s a real bargain. Did I mention the WPHA community sponsored socials; marshmallow roasts, cookouts, ice cream social, Christmas party, and more?
